A column of few hundred tetrahedral
helium balloons
is installed at the division line of a heavy-traffic highway. Their
vacillation
and swinging visualise the air turbulence caused by road traffic.
The balloons are chained by
elastic horizontal bond as to obtain the
effect of connected pendulums. The shock waves provoked by fast moving
cars generate flow of waves along the balloon chain. Inflatable
tetrahedrons
are made of transparent plastic foil and were decorated with spiral
ornament.
The view is spectacular
itself, but it could also focus our
consciousness on how` many obvious things remain invisible.
Comments: How much energy
is wasted, how many waves make people driving
their cars from A to B et vice versa.
